CONCLUSION
It is evident from the examples of these companies that both are communicating at their own resources and have a different style of corporate communication to sustain in their business.
Glaxo being a global company extends its strong hand for sustainable development through strong internal management like eco-audits and and by various international forums and through international organizations like WHO. However, Glaxo has made its communication principle so volatile that the actual consumers are neglected. GSK mainly focus its mission and co-operation at a high government level and for its stakeholders. Their manner of corporate communication seems to be more sustainable for long term pharmaceutical business.
Ranbaxy corporate communication seems to be more localized and shows positive sustainability because of their fast execution. However, they have to apply the same approach at an international level in order to sustain in a global arena. Ranbaxy still lacks in the triple bottom line approach and like Glaxo should innovate constantly and should involve stakeholders in communicating. They also needs to build strong communication in matters of human rights and animal testing for which the company is often debatable on ethical issues. Strategic partnership with transactional firms will be a good communication for the company for strong sustainability.
