As far as i know,it is an open ended exchange traded fund. The fund aims to generate investment return that corresponds (before fees and expenses) generally to the performance of ‘MOst 50’ basket subject to tracking error.

The fund manager will invest 95-100% of the money in MOst 50 basket. Exposure to fixed income and money market instruments along with cash at call will be restricted to 0-5% of the total money invested in the fund. Investment strategy

MOst 50 basket is an attempt to address this need of owning blue chip Nifty stocks on the basis of their fundamentals than just the market capitalisation. Investors believing in indexing while investing are expected to do well with this fund if the fund can stick to the mandate and minimise the tracking error and its expenses. In the long term the ‘value orientation’ of this index fund should comfortably beat the returns generated by any of the ‘free float index fund’ by a decent margin.
