The Indian markets riding high on the global cues closed on a positive note gaining 2.13 percent during the week. Almost all the sectoral and broader indices closed in green with the only exception being the FMCG index declining by 0.76 percent during today’s trade. The main gainers for the day are the Realty and Teck indices closing the day with a gain of more than two percentage points. The Sensex closed the day in green gaining 181.81 points or 1.03 percentage points to close at 17,833.54. Nifty ends the day at 5352.45 gaining 55.60 points or 1.05 percentage points. Market breadth was positive with 1,572 advances against 1,322 declines on BSE. On the global front, European stocks rose for a fourth day, extending the biggest weekly advance in a year for the Stoxx Europe 600 Index, as confidence in the economic recovery strengthened. Asian shares gained, while U.S. index futures were little changed.
