The Indian Markets closed on a flat note in green after witnessing volatile session for the day. Most of the sectoral and broader indices closed in the positive territory. The exceptions were the FMCG and IT indices witnessed the maximum selling pressure as they closed in red declining by more than one percentage points. The Metal, Healthcare and Oil & Gas indices provided some support for the markets closing on a positive note gaining more than one percentage points. The Sensex closed the day in green gaining40.79 points or 0.25 percentage points to close at 16,657.89. Nifty ends the day at 5000.30 gaining 13.20 points or 0.26 percentage points. Market breadth was positive with 1,479 advances against 1,289 declines on BSE. On the global front, European stocks fluctuated as BP Plc tumbled, overshadowing a Reuters report that China’s exports surged. U.S. futures dropped and Asian shares pared some losses.
