US wheat exports up 13% during July 4-10
As per the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), export of wheat from US during the period July 4 - 10, 2008 was registered at 644,900 MT, up 13% from the previous week and 37% from the prior 4-week average.
The primary destinations were Brazil (88,200 MT), Nigeria (71,300 MT), Egypt (58,700 MT), Yemen (55,100 MT), the Philippines (51,700 MT), Iraq (51,100 MT), and Peru (34,800 MT).
Net sales of wheat in US stood at 748,600 metric tons, up 21% from the previous week and 29% from the prior 4-week average. Increases reported for Nigeria (182,000 MT), Japan (136,000 MT), Indonesia (116,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Iran (65,000 MT), Mexico (49,700 MT), Venezuela (38,200 MT), and El Salvador (29,800 MT, including 30,500 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 700 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (2,900 MT), Egypt (1,300 MT), and Guatemala (1,000 MT).
