US soybean exports decline 16% during July 4-10
As per the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), export of soybeans from US during the period July 4 - 10, 2008 was registered at 253,500 MT, down 16% from the previous week and 34% from the prior 4-week average.
The primary destinations were China (133,200 MT), Mexico (37,500 MT), Japan (26,600 MT), Indonesia (12,700 MT), Costa Rica (10,800 MT), and Taiwan (10,700 MT).
During the above period, US net sales of 63,500 MT were down 4% from the previous week and 42% from the prior 4-week average. Increases for China (56,000 MT), Taiwan (46,300 MT), Japan (20,600 MT), Malaysia (1,800 MT), and Costa Rica (1,800 MT, including 1,500 MT switched from Guatemala), were partially offset by decreases for Egypt (42,400 MT), unknown destinations (16,000 MT), and Mexico (6,800 MT).
Net sales of 39,000 MT for 2008-09 delivery were for Japan (20,400 MT) and Mexico (18,600 MT).
