The Indian markets remained in the positive territory throughout the day witnessing buying interest is witnessed throughout the day. The Oil & Gas, Banking and Capital Goods indices were the main gainers for the day gaining more than one percentage points. The Healthcare, Realty and Consumer Durables indices were the main draggers for the day. The Sensex closed the day in green gaining 142.87 points or 0.84 percentage points to close at 17,064.95. Nifty ends the day at 5119.35 gaining 40.75 points or 0.80 percentage points. Market breadth was positive with 1,531 advances against 1,311 declines on BSE. On the global front, European and Asian stocks rose after economic reports in China indicated that the recovery will continue, Banco Santander SA said its outlook is “brilliant” and BP Plc rallied. U.S. futures advanced.
