Rs vs $ :- strong rose to its strongest in 10 days, as global crude prices steady at around $136 a barrel and easing political uncertainty helped boost sentiment for the local unit in the near term.
JEERA :- rose on strong export demand and weak arrivals in the physical market.
PEPPER :- gain marginally on low rainfall in major growing regions and weak arrivals in the spot market, but sluggish export demand capped the gains.
CHILLI :- gain on straight 6th session shrugged off early gains to end steady as traders booked profits at higher levels. Good export demand from Sri Lanka and a scarcity of quality produce was supporting prices.
SUGAR :- almost flat supported by expectation a drop in plantings would lower the output in the coming year.
GUARSEED & GUM :- extended gains on export demand from the US and China for industrial guar gum.
MENTHA OIL :- hit 2nd day upper freeze by 4% after estimates that 20% of Mentha crop affected from recent rains, lower carry over stock of last year and falling exchange inventory and oil recovery might fall by atleast 15-20% from mentha leaves.
TURMERIC :- gain pared early gains to end steady on profit-taking at higher levels after rising about 10% in a month.
MUSTARD SEED / SOYBEAN :- gain on fresh buying interest and a firm spot.
